Figuring out your size can seem more difficult then it actually is. For
each style within our Collection we always list all the relevant measurements
to help you decide which size will work for you. Please remember that
the listed sizes are from our standard production. Our seamstress Linda
always has fabric and modifications can always be made to our patterns
to fit you exactly. Nothing is more frustrating then getting your order
and then needing to take to your own seamstress to alter delaying the
excitement of wearing your new outfit the very next day.
The starting point to determine your proper size is to select a similar
style garment from your wardrobe and compare some key measurements. For
example take a favorite perfect fitting Tee out of your closet and follow
the measuring steps below for Tops. After measuring, determine where “your”
measurements fit within our size specifications and you will find your
size. Again as each person is unique modifications can be made or if need
be a complete new garment can be produced for your size needs.
Tops
To accurately measure for all Tops, Tees Tunics, Vests and Jackets,
take your favorite fitting similar style garment and lay it flat
on a table so that all seams match up.
|
-
Bust line A - measure 1” below the
armhole straight across and then multiply by two.
-
Hip line B - measure 24 ½ “
from the highest point of the shoulder. Now measure across and
multiply the number measured by two.
-
Bottom Opening line C - measure straight
across the bottom of the garment and multiply by two.
-
Garment Length line D - again starting at
the high point of the shoulder measure straight down to the
bottom hem. This measurement does not need to be multiplied
by two.

For Pants:
Most of our Pants have full elastic waists, and we list both
the relaxed and extended elastic measurements. Most will comfortably
fit somewhere in between the two waist measurements. In pants
and skirts the hip measurement is the most critical. As with tops
take your favorite fitting garment and lay it flat so that all
seams match up.
|
-
Waist Relaxed line A - Without stretching
the elastic just measure from side seam to side seam and then
multiply by two.
-
Waist Extended line B - This one can be a
bit tricky. With two fingers at each seam in the waist band
stretch the elastic waist band. Measure from side seam to side
seam and multiply by two. The elastic should be pulled to it’s
largest measurement comfortably. There is no reason to strech
it to it’s fullest as you would not want the waist to
fit that way.
-
Hip line C - Take your tape measure and find
9” down from the waist. Now measure across and multiply
by two.
- Inseam line D -The inseam is measured by taking
the tape measure from the point where the leg meets the crotch
to the bottom of the hem.
